Carina B. Vera, founder of Professional Tax & Accounting Solutions, is a Certified Public Accountant with over fifteen years of experience in the accounting field for private and public companies. Over the past fifteen years, Ms. Vera provided tax and accounting services to small privately held companies in various industries. She has also worked for a few large publicly held companies where she was mainly focused on compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
Ms. Vera has held the position of Assistant Controller at Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc., a property and casualty insurance company. Prior to working at Universal Insurance Holdings, she was an Assistant Vice President at BankUnited, where she concentrated in SEC compliance and taxes. Before this position, she worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at Norwegian Cruise Lines, specializing in documenting, testing and advising on the Company’s internal controls. Ms. Vera has also held the position of Sarbanes Oxley Auditor for Federated National Insurance Company.
Ms. Vera attended Florida Atlantic University where she received a Master in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and International Business. She was born in Argentina and is fluent in Spanish.
